Disclosure
I started The Naked Soul blog in October 2014 (after years of prior blogging experience) to build a community and learn from other intellectually deep readers those who also happen to be artists, life hackers, writers, and entrepreneurs. This blog is not primarily financially driven.
I do not make any significant income from this blog. This blog is purely my own personal muse and all the recommendations made on this blog are the tools, products or things that I have personally tried and tested.
However, having said all of the above, there are real costs associated with running this blog such as hosting charges, data storage, and backup charges, domain renewal charges, etc to name a few. Occasionally, I use affiliate links which on a good, full moon night makes me few extra cents that is not enough to cover the cost of this blog.
In other words, Naked Soul participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn commissions by linking to Amazon. In more human terms, this means that whenever you buy a book on Amazon from a link on here, I get a small percentage of its price (at no additional cost to you).
That helps support me and this blog by offsetting a fraction of what it takes to maintain the site and is very much appreciated.
Therefore, please read the following:
Regardless, beginning December 1, 2009, the FTC requires bloggers to disclose whenever there could be hidden interests or unspoken biases related to recommendations. So here goes:
Per the FTC rules, if I interview someone for The Naked Soul Podcast and they grab the bill for lunch, I would need to disclose this. Ditto if I use an Amazon link that gets me 8 cents instead of an Amazon link that gets me 0 cents.
If someone gives me a comfy t-shirt with a logo and I wear it in a photo, same deal. Disclaimers all over the place. This would be tedious for me and even more tedious for you, the readers. But rules are rules.
To cover my ass and to preserve your reading experience on The Naked Soul blog, please assume that, for every link and product I use, the following all hold true:
If you are a blogger and facing similar concerns, please feel free to use the text and images on this page with proper attribution. There is no reason why each blogger should have to reinvent the wheel.
